Submission Guidelines
We are now open to submissions!
Given that we’re a new press (and perforce starting small) our guidelines are subject to tweaking, so please make sure to check them every once in a while.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Well-written, compelling, intriguing, compulsively-readable stories from writers who know what they’re doing. We’re open to all authors, regardless of experience level, but we want to hear from writers who love what they do and put their whole heart into it. We can tell, and so can the readers.
We’re open to submissions of both fiction and non-fiction. For fiction, we’ll happily read practically any genre, though there will be no acceptance letters to anything with gratuitous violence, sex, or language. There’s a market for that, but it’s not us. For non-fiction, we’re looking for polished writing that doesn’t require illustrations. We will be open to illustrations down the line, but not at present. Thank you for taking that into consideration before you send us your query.
PLEASE NOTE:
We’re small, and we’re new. We are looking forward to working with authors to give them the best exposure and press we are capable of, but please keep in mind our smallness and newness! We will require our authors to work with us and contribute their time, effort, ingenuity, and enthusiasm to the PR process.
GUIDELINES:
For fiction, send cover letter and first three chapters. For non-fiction, send cover letter, synopsis, marketing plan, and first chapter. For both, feel free to include a bio, ideas for PR, and any additional items of interest as related to your project. When sending email, please include the sample chapters and extras as .wpd or .doc attachments. For snail mail, please include SASE. Materials will not be returned.
Please note if your submission is simultaneous, and if it has been previously published in whole or in part.
We do offer constructive criticism. Please keep in mind the constructive part. If you get a note on your style, your presentation, or even just your query, it will be intended to encourage you to continue and improve in your writing.
